Campaign Films / Carbon War rooms

Creative Direction / Script / Animation Production

The Carbon War Room is an international non-governmental organisation (NGO) and think tank working on issues regarding market-based solutions to climate change. They have set out to change the world in a matter of speaking by helping in sustainable and efficiency technologies. Founded by Richard Branson and focusing on the power of entrepreneurs to implement market-driven solutions to climate change and create a post-carbon economy. We worked with them on films exploring their current programs.

Our brief involved numerous projects on a variety of major environmental areas: Energy Supply, Industry, Transport and Waste Management. We collaborated with CWR head of communication and marketing in writing scripts and developing styles that would stand out in this sector.

Our Solution was a range of films targeted at decision makers within big businesses. We found visual inspiration in the pop culture of music album's from the 70’s and used this to get the attention of the CEO's of big businesses. Educating an audience on the positive initiatives that are being developed across the world. The films needed to be bold and grab your attention and deliver a message of progress and opportunity.

Our Outcome  used the films to bring awareness to the organisation and were distributed  within the global media to highlight the developments of sustainable and efficient technologies. The films were presented at government level to break the ice and get a conversation started. They appeared across social media platforms to engage interest and build a following. The CWR has now merged with Rocky Mountain Institute and continues to use the Carbon War Room brand in many markets given its exceptional reputation.

"Our vision is a world where market barriers will not prohibit profitable solutions to climate change, and where entrepreneurs who are passionate about preserving our planet’s resources are simultaneously tapping into the biggest economic opportunity of our generation."

Shipping Efficiency

Maritime shipping transports 90 percent of the world’s goods and much of the raw materials and agricultural products needed to make those goods, but transporting huge volumes of products across the globe comes at a cost. The shipping industry emits nearly a billion tons of carbon per year—more than Germany’s annual emissions—and there are no globally mandated regulations to abate these emissions.

Renewable JetFuels

A program seeking to improve investment and purchasing decisions within the aviation fuel market. Thus making it easy for airlines to choose the best renewable fuels from the suppliers across the globe, ensuring that the most efficient and safest can be purchased for use.

Machine to Machine

Machine to Machine communication will help the world do more with less. Reducing our need for fossil fuels by producing less waste of materials and using less time. This new technology can work in areas of energy production, agriculture, transportation, building management, health care and industry management.

10  Island Challenge

The residents of island nations pay some of the highest electricity prices in the world because of their near-total dependence on imported diesel—perpetuating poverty and inequality, swelling national debts, hampering investments, and blocking sustainable development. Additionally, diesel generation releases carbon dioxide and particulate emissions, reducing air quality and harming the health of local residents.

Accelerating the transition of island economies from a heavy dependence on fossil fuels to a mix of energy efficiency and renewables—and create a blueprint for other isolated economies. By unlocking the unique challenges islands face, we are supporting islands to move beyond clean-energy roadmaps to tangible, on-the-ground results.
